Gukan “Ku” Sakthivel, M.D., graduated from the William Beaumont School of Medicine. He completed a surgical internship at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY, and went on to complete his radiation oncology residency at the University of Rochester’s Wilmot Cancer Institute, where he served as Chief Resident.

His clinical practice encompasses the treatment of a broad range of malignancies using advanced radiation techniques, including stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT/SABR), adaptive radiation therapy, brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceutical therapy. Dr. Sakthivel’s approach emphasizes individualized treatment planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the careful integration of modern technology to optimize outcomes.

At the core of his practice is a deep respect for the trust patients place in their physicians during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. His goal is to ensure that every patient feels informed and supported throughout their cancer treatment while delivering care grounded firmly in the highest level of technical proficiency, evidence, and thoughtful clinical judgment to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.
